Whimsical Fashion Design Showcase: Northern Luminous Tide Collection

Inspired by glowing tides, drifting jellyfish, and the soft colors of the aurora, we designed the Northern Luminous Tide Dress to feel like a piece of the ocean brought to life. Flowing layered sleeves cascade like ribbons of water, while the dramatic high-low skirt creates flow and movement with every step. Delicate jellyfish embroidery and shimmering details across the skirt evoke bioluminescent sea life drifting through moonlit waters.

The fitted bodice is finished with delicate chain accents and soft ruffle details, creating an elegant shape that feels both whimsical and refined. A large bow at the back adds the perfect finishing touch, making the dress just as beautiful from behind as it is from the front.

This set was inspired by the flowing movement of jellyfish drifting through the ocean. We wanted the skirt to feel dramatic and elegant, with cascading layers that almost look like floating fins or ocean currents trailing behind the wearer.

The top features a halter neckline paired with layered ruffle sleeves that frame the shoulders and add softness to the overall silhouette. For the skirt, we focused on creating plenty of movement with an asymmetrical hemline and multiple layers of ruffles that sway as you walk.

One of my favorite details is the artwork scattered across the skirt. Tiny jellyfish drift between stars and glowing wave motifs, helping tie the entire underwater theme together. Combined with the layered silhouette, it creates a piece that feels whimsical, ethereal, and a little bit magical.

This babydoll top quickly became one of my favorite pieces in the collection. We wanted something that felt soft and flowing, almost like a jellyfish drifting through the water.

The oversized sleeves are definitely the star of the show. They're finished with ribbon details at the shoulders and cuffs, while the layered front panels create lots of movement when you walk. We also added pearl-inspired trim around the neckline and a large bow at the center to give the piece a more whimsical, romantic feel.

One of my favorite details has to be the jellyfish artwork scattered across the flowing panels. Combined with the ruffles and layered fabrics, it helps tie the whole ocean-inspired theme together without feeling too costume-like.

This design started with a simple question: what if a skirt could capture the shape and movement of a jellyfish?

Instead of a traditional skirt, this piece combines fitted shorts with dramatic cascading overskirt panels that flow down the sides and back. The layered fabric creates a silhouette that feels light and fluid, almost like drifting fins moving through water. We also liked the idea of combining something practical and comfortable with a more fantasy-inspired shape.

The waistband is decorated with small details and accents, while the outer layers feature glowing jellyfish artwork and swirling wave motifs that tie back into the collection's underwater theme. One of my favorite things about this design is how much movement it has. Every layer was intended to create a sense of motion, making the piece feel dynamic even when standing still.
For anyone who loves whimsical fantasy fashion but still wants the security and comfort of shorts underneath, this was our attempt at creating the best of both worlds.
