From Passion to Purpose: The Unlikely Journey of Nyahallo's Story

Hey, lovely nyah-mily!

I'm Jen, the founder and creative force behind NyahalloShop. As a plus size Asian woman who spent most of her time with her head up in the clouds, I never thought I'd be running my own business. I once envisioned myself stuck in a 9-to-5, cubicle-bound in a skyscraper. The idea of becoming a businesswoman would've seemed laughable to my younger self. But life has a way of surprising us, right?

Growing up, art was my escape. I spent hours sketching, painting, and dreaming up fantastical worlds and characters. But, I never considered turning my passion into a career. I used to think entrepreneurship was reserved for a select group of people. My family instilled in me the idea that business ownership wasn't accessible to anyone, and for a long time that influence made me doubt my ability to start a business. Instead, I sought to go a more conventional and "stable" route, however, I found myself stuck in low paying dead-end job after dead-end job, feeling unfulfilled.

That was until 2021. Something clicked, and I realized, "why not me?" My former boss started their own business, so why couldn't I? I was trapped in a cycle of unhappiness and depression, feeling suffocated by my unfulfilling career. Each day blended together in a blur of monotony. Every day felt repetitive. I felt trapped. Sick of feeling stuck, I made a promise to myself: find a new way. Nights became business-school, researching and planning. Every dollar I saved was a step toward freedom. I decided it was time to take control of my life, took a leap of faith, and Nyahallo's story was born.

The Unlikely Entrepreneur

I came from a working class family, with no business background or connections. But I had determination, creativity, and a willingness to learn. Nyahallo's story started as a tiny spark, and it's grown into a roaring flame.

Our mission is simple: to bring whimsical, artistic, and wearable alternative fashion to those who crave something different. We're not just about clothes, we're about self-expression and self-love.
